I had quite a few medical expenses in 2012 after breaking my hip. I used my Health Savings Account to pay for many of these expenses. Can the amount used from my HSA be counted toward the 7.5% of my adjusted gross income for medical expenses?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

Unfortunately, contributions made to an HSA account are with pre-tax dollars and thus aren't eligible to count towards the 7.5% AGI criteria for medical expenses as that would be "double dipping."
