If I moved from Georgia to Tennessee this month, how does that affect my tax filing in Georgia since Tennessee doesn't have state income tax? I have already had 10 plus months of Georgia state income tax taken from my check this year. I moved due to getting married, so would that factor in as well?

ANSWER

Expert Barbara Blacklidge's Answer:

You would file your Georgia state tax return as a part-year resident.
