My employer pays for our group term life insurance policy. I'm wondering if the amount of premiums paid by my employer will ever become taxable?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

Actual employer provided life insurance premiums paid annually may be subject to taxes for the insured. Specifically, IRC Section 79 imposes a tax if the employer provides the employee with group-term life insurance premiums in excess of $50,000 (less any premium the employee pays).
