My daughter is leaving in August for Korea to teach for a year. She worked earlier this year and will need to file a tax form. How does she report the income on a tax return and is she subject to tax liability for the overseas income in Korea?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

See IRC 911(a)(1). For the 2010 tax year, the first $91,400,

of foreign earned income, is tax exempt. The exemption is computed

on Form 2555, of her Form 1040.
