We received a 1099-B form from our broker even though the investments are in my husband's account as custodian until our children are 18. Do we need to claim this as income even though we aren't the beneficiary?

ANSWER

Expert Mark Anderson's Answer:

The child may need to file a tax return depending upon the amount of income.
