Why isn't income from a gas pipeline company reported on a 1099-S form? Since it is an easement or crop damage?

ANSWER

Expert Mark Anderson's Answer:

A 1099 S is used to report the sale of real estate.

If you are just getting income or royalties, then it would not be reported on a 1099-S.
